From July 2021 to February 2023, SOCAR and its partners in the South Caucasus Pipeline Company (SCPC) implemented a rural development initiative across 20 villages in Ujar, Agdash, and Yevlakh. The project empowered more than 280 beneficiaries, primarily families of martyrs, war veterans, retired military personnel, and low-income households, to build sustainable livelihoods through microenterprises in beekeeping, greenhouse farming, and fruit cultivation.
Participants received practical training and hands-on support, including 100 greenhouses, beekeeping equipment, and 30,000 apiphilic fruit trees. Over the course of the project, 460 technical trainings, 160 business literacy sessions, and 260 mentorship meetings were delivered using participant-centered learning methods. The support within the project continued across 18 communities and 33 beneficiary groups.
One hundred families established greenhouses, achieving strong seasonal harvests of tomatoes, greens, and cucumbers. Another 100 families launched beekeeping businesses with the provision of 800 beehives and 1,000 hive boxes, successfully producing high-quality honey. In addition, 30,000 fruit trees were distributed to 120 farmers, who received proper training and continuous mentoring, supporting the long-term development of local orchards.
The project was implemented by Sərvət-FYZ.
