As part of its commitment to youth development and digital transformation, SOCAR and its partners in the South Caucasus Pipeline Company (SCPC) launched a national initiative aimed at equipping young professionals in Azerbaijan with in-demand skills in Data Analytics and Cybersecurity.
Implemented by the International Training and Project Center, the program ran in two phases between August 2021 and November 2022, engaging 442 participants from across the country. The initiative provided fully funded access to two globally recognized professional certificate programs: Google’s Data Analytics Specialization and IBM’s Cybersecurity Analyst Specialization.
The programs, delivered via leading global online learning platforms, consisted of eight structured courses followed by final assessments. Upon successful completion, participants earned industry-recognized certificates, positioning them for competitive careers in the digital economy.
To ensure high completion rates and meaningful learning outcomes, participants received:
• 204 hours of instruction in Data Analytics
• 171 hours of instruction in Cybersecurity Analytics
• Weekly in-person group facilitation sessions delivered by local experts and university lecturers
• Career development support, including mentorship, resume building, and interview preparation
The program culminated in a high-profile Employment Fair at the Azerbaijan Carpet Museum, where graduates connected with 16 leading employers from both the public and private sectors, with many participants securing employment, part-time consultancy, and internship opportunities.
