Ahead of November 8 Victory Day, SOCAR Midstream Gas Operations and our South Caucasus Pipeline partners carried out the next phase of the “Urban Forests: More Than Trees” project in Baku’s Khojasan residential complex home to 2,450 residents, including families of martyrs, war veterans, and other socially vulnerable groups.
The initiative will create a 1.5-hectare green area with 6,600 climate-resilient trees (olive, plane, Eldar pine, and acacia), pedestrian paths, drip irrigation systems, 50 benches, 40 waste bins, 2 gazebos, and recreation zones for children and adults with 12 facilities.
This is the second phase of the project, following 2024’s first planting in Sumgait’s H.Z. Taghiyev settlement, where 6,800 trees of nine species were planted.
