On November 2, 2024, a tree planting campaign was held in the Haji Zeynalabdin Taghiyev settlement of Sumgayit, with support from SOCAR and its South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP) partners, as part of the “Urban Forests: More Than Just Trees” project. The event brought together SOCAR leadership, SOCAR Midstream Gas Operations employees, local authorities, and nearly 200 residents and students of Sumgayit. A total of 7,200 trees and shrubs from nine species - including olive, plane, Eldar pine, acacia, barberry, thuja, and juniper were planted.
To ensure sustainability, a drip irrigation system was installed along with walking paths, benches, and waste bins, creating a comfortable and eco-friendly public space.
