Nariman Mehdiyev was born in 1983 in Sumgayit, Azerbaijan. He earned both his bachelor’s (2006) and master’s (2009, with distinction) degrees in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Yıldız Technical University, Türkiye. In 2023, he completed a Master’s degree in Energy Management at ESCP Business School.

He began his professional career in Türkiye in 2006, and in 2009 joined BP Exploration (Caspian Sea), working in Azerbaijan and Georgia. From 2013 to 2019, he held various technical leadership roles at TANAP, including Deputy Head of the Engineering Group.

In 2019, he moved to the Netherlands to join South Stream Transport B.V. as Senior Mechanical Engineer and later Head of the Mechanical Department. Since 2020, he served as Engineering Services Manager at TANAP. In April 2025, he was appointed Chief Technical Officer of SOCAR Midstream Gas Operations LLC.
