Polad Rustamov
Chief Executive Officer
Polad Rustamov was born in 1979 in Russia. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from the Middle East Technical University in 2003, followed by a postgraduate degree in Engineering Management from the University of Manchester.
He began his career as a Site Engineer on the BTC Crude Oil Pipeline Project and later joined BP Azerbaijan, where he served in various engineering roles, including Team Leader for Structural Integrity and Fabric Maintenance Projects.
In 2015, he joined TANAP Natural Gas Transmission Company as Deputy Project Director, and later as Project Director. He established and led an Integrated Project Management Team (IPMT), ensuring high-quality execution through cross-functional collaboration. For his contributions to the successful completion of the TANAP Project and the development of Azerbaijan, he was awarded the “Taraggi” Medal by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Ilham Aliyev.
In November 2019, he was appointed Chief Technical Officer of TANAP. He then assumed the role of Deputy Vice President at SOCAR in February 2024. In 2025, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of SOCAR Midstream Gas Operations LLC.
