Anar Hajiyev was born in 1986 in Baku. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the Azerbaijan State University of Economics in 2008 and completed his MBA in Business Administration, Development Economics, and International Affairs at Troy University (USA) in 2010.

He began his career at SOCAR Midstream in 2011 as a Marketing Expert and later served as Project Coordinator (2015–2018). From 2018 to 2024, he led the Commercial Department. In May 2024, he was appointed Head of the Gas Infrastructure Management and Development Department at SOCAR, and in November 2024, he became Director of the Georgia Branch. In 2025, he was appointed Chief Business Officer of SOCAR Midstream Gas Operations LLC.
