Murad Mehdiyev was born in 1985 in Baku, Azerbaijan. He graduated with distinction from Baku State University’s Law Faculty in 2006 and earned a Master's degree in Civil Law. In 2007, he received a SOCAR scholarship and completed a Master’s program in International Economic Law, European Law, and International Trade Law at Saarland University, Germany.

He began his career at SOCAR’s Investment Division as a Legal Advisor in 2009. In 2012, he joined the South Caucasus Pipeline Company, where he served as Project Legal Expert and later Legal Manager. Since July 2015, he has led the Legal Group at SOCAR Midstream Operations LLC.

As of April 2025, he holds the position of Chief Legal and Compliance Officer at SOCAR Midstream Gas Operations LLC.
